Chrome 79 Beta includes experimental support for the Wake Lock API. Wake Lock functionality prevents an app, or certain device features, from defaulting to an energy-saving state (e.g. mobile device screen from going black). The feature is especially useful for apps that need a device to remain awake during long periods of no use (e.g. recipe apps, boarding passes, etc.).
