Week Four Prompt: Perfect Purples 🍇

This week we're going monochromatic with a palette of purples: a soft orchid, a pleasing plum, and a dusky deep purple.

Your Challenge

Create a Pen with this purple color palette: #E2A9E5, #632C65, #4B384C. You could choose to only use these colors, or use them as a starting point to experiment with a wider palette.

How to Participate

Create a Pen and tag it codepenchallenge and the weekly tag cpc-purple. We'll gather those Pens into a collection and share our favorites on Twitter and Instagram (Use the #CodePenChallenge tag on Twitter and Instagram as well).

Ideas

  1. Design a monochromatic UI with these purples.
  2. Use the palette as gradient color stops in a background or border.
  3. Surprise us with a twist on this palette! Maybe you could extend the palette with more color, or work with their color-wheel opposites.

Resources

  1. Building UI? Check out this primer on design with a monochromatic color scheme from Design Bombs.
  2. Brush up on your gradient skills with linear-gradient and radial-gradient, and gradient border resources from CSS-Tricks.
  3. Want to extend the palette? Punch these colors into Adobe Color and play around to find harmonious additions to the color scheme.
